Olympic Goes 5.1 with Genelec

Olympic Studios, the West London recording facility situated in Barnes, has installed a new Genelec 5.1 monitoring system based around the new 7071A LSE™ subs, with their unique bass management.

Designed by Sam Toyoshima, the recently refurbished Studio 1 has one of the largest live areas and control rooms in London. Artists including Paul Weller, Spanish orchestral group Presuntus Implicados and Producer Narada Michael Walden are already booked to use the studio following the installation.

The studio handles a wide range of high calibre projects from album recording and mixing to film and TV scores and recent projects include Massive Attack, Westlife, Def Leppard, Craig David, Shirley Bassey, Sum 41, Oasis, James Last and Badly Drawn Boy.

London's legendary Olympic Studios has been host to some of the greatest rock recording sessions in history, including The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppellin. Established in 1958, it continues to offer excellence in recording, mastering, mixing, remastering and other post-production services and currently houses four state-of-the-art recording studios together with fully equipped programming and preproduction suites. The studio has broken all records having won four out of the last five Music Week "Best Recording Studio" awards.
